Our boys are train obsessed. We watch YouTube videos of steam trains, look at books of trains, play trains, breathe trains. It's a train home that we live in. (It would be cool to live in a boxcar. Remember the Boxcar Children? I wanted to be them...)
Anyway, so Baltimore has this B&O Rail Museum. And we had thought about going while we are in Baltimore, but had no definite plans, since we didn't know when exactly we were going to be arriving, having no idea how long it will actually take us to drive there (estimates 10-12 hours are what we are going on right now).
But then I, in my obsessive planning weirdness, went on the museum site yesterday and saw the link for the Day Out With Thomas. Our boys love Thomas! Out of curiosity, I clicked it. And almost screamed and fell out of my chair when I saw the dates were the exact same weekend that we are going to be in Baltimore!!!!! What is the chance of that? Anyway, I flipped out, emailed the link to my husband (since he was all the way downstairs, lol) then proceeded to hop down the stairs and SQUEE at him about it. He thinks I'm insane. But that's not news.
So, long story short (too late) we bought tickets (at $20 each, plus cost of admission to museum, plus cost of other train rides, yikes!) for Saturday afternoon.
Eric is thinking about stopping part way on the drive to sleep, so that we can all be awake for the trains. So now I need to find a good stopping point, that will give us a good chunk of the drive done Friday, and just a little bit on Saturday, without driving the entire way. Ugh. I should do the drive before we go and see how bad it really is!
